eTwit
.com from the Founder.Hello and thanks for stopping by our website! I've got so many questions about why you are here, or how you arrived here! Perhpas I'll never get that chance to learn about those things, but maybe if I share a bit about this site, you'll take the time to drop me a line.
You can't imagine the personal amazement that I have experienced over the years as I watch the creation of Twitter, Tweets, Twits and a bunch of other related stuff and how it has affected the way we soicialize in our world today.
Long before Twitter was a household name (and probably before it was even a registered domain name) I registered the domain name etwit .com. I stumbled across the name by accident really. All I did was upload a few hundred four letter domain names into a bulk registration application and stuck an "e" in front of all of those four letter words. A half dozen or so names came up from the registrar as being NEVER registered and I thought etwit stood out from the rest as a kind of funny sounding name. At the time my thought was that I would make a blog or something with related subject matter for geeks, nerds or twits!
Once I had the domain name, I parked it for a few years and never really thought much about how to use it. I mean, hey come one, how many ways can you use a name like etwit to create a website! Recently, I decided to resurrect the name by creating an online store for bringing my visitors quality products from some of the worlds largest online retailers like Amazon.com.
After a few weeks of doing a little work to make this sites presence known in all of the major seach engines, I was surprised that when I typed the characters "etwit" into a few search engine queries that I was often given search results for "twit". Yes, to my astonishment, search engines were asking me quetions like "did you mean to search for twit" ? or evenmore amazingly, search engines were sometimes saying (although not literally) we don't think you meant to type in the word etwit, so we decided to automatically show you our search engine results for "twit". I was fascinated by the fact that my cute little domain name was being shunned by search engines! Does that mean that if I typed in "iPad" into those same search engines that they would default and pull up results for "Pad"? I think not! So I guess you might say that my writings, or perhpas ramblings here are to start off on a journey. A journey to get my little domain name some itsy bitsy amount of respect in some little corner of the interweb. So thanks again for listening to my story and while you are here take a look around and let me know what you think. I will truly read and cherish any feedback you can give. Thanks again from the eTwit.com founder.
